| Details | Wimborne Community Theatre Autumn Workshops A programme of workshops developed by WCT in preparation for devising new site-specific work in Wimborne town centre. Workshops are open to non-members of WCT as well as members. Two further workshops will follow in November and December. The Private Voice and Public Places Led by Andrew Cuthbert Wednesday, September 10: 7.30 -9.30 pm Andrew Cuthbert leads a workshop which explores the mechanics of effective voice-production and applying them to both the expression of private truths and communication to a wider audience. Andrew trained as an actor at RADA. Has worked in theatre (including work with Bournemouth Theatre in Education), TV, film and radio. Most recently appeared in his own play in the 'Plays Alive' series on Bournemouth’s Hope FM. Soon to be in 'Tracing your Roots' on BBC Radio 4. Teaches Voice and Text on the short courses at RADA. Wimborne Community Learning Centre, 41 – 44 King Street, Wimborne Objects and Atmospheres Led by Geraldine Pilgrim Saturday, October 18; 10.30 – 4.30 pm As a way of researching ideas for WCT’s proposed 2009 production, Geraldine Pilgrim, Artistic Director of Corridor Performance Company presents a workshop that includes looking at how objects can be used to create atmospheres and ways of developing narratives inspired by site. Participants will have the opportunity to explore devising non verbal work, exploring text as a visual language, the body in relation to site and the importance of the dynamics of architectural space. You only need to wear clothes that you normally wear every day. Geraldine Pilgrim Director/Designer and Installation artist is also the Artistic Director of Corridor, a performance company she set up in 2000 to continue to create site-specific events often with young people, older people and arts and community group working alongside professional practitioners. She trained as a fine artist and a theatre designer co- founded and became Artistic Director of Hesitate and Demonstrate the influential visual theatre company which toured Britain and mainland Europe and now createsinstallations, theatre based performance and large and small scale site-specific events She has extensive experience in devising/ directing/ designing and managing projects often with over 200 participants and liaising with producers funders and community organisations.
