Dorset County Council (Dorset For You)

The Arts Team at Dorset County Council aims to support the development of arts and culture throughout Dorset.

We exist to:

Encourage participation in and enjoyment of the arts and culture throughout Dorset.
Promote new opportunities for traditional and original cultural experiences in the county.
Provide a countywide framework for individual arts promoters both volunteer and professional.

To achieve this we:

Work in collaboration with artists and arts promoters in the county and beyond
Offer advice and information about arts and culture
Develop partnerships with promoters, artists and other local authorities
to make the most of available funds and resources
Help artists, arts organisations and community groups to connect with the plans and grant schemes of regional and national organisations
Seek to ensure high quality in a range of art forms and cultural activity
Identify areas where there is less provision, and remedy the situation where possible
Increase opportunities for people to take part in arts and cultural activities for the first time
